I hate to admit that there are criminals out here in Cyberland, but many countries have their own sets of laws to govern. Could you imagine "cyber cops" crossing borders to arrest people for what they do on the internet? Or worse how about for what you say? other countries aren't as "free minded" as the good ol' U.S.A...
Anyway, what I am getting at is please be careful. There are many scams out there. Ill try to keep up on them and let you know before you fall victim. In this article I want to talk about a scam where a company tries to "Snake" their way into holding your domain registration (and who knows what else).
What happens is you receive a letter in the mail, or an email, stating that your domain is approaching expiration and it is time to renew. It looks like a bill, sounds like a bill, and smells like a bill. Be aware, it is not a bill! well it might be, if it is the company that holds your domains registration. If I manage your domain than you can be sure to rip up any domain related bill that doesn't come with my name and address on it.
Most time the letter is from a company called something like "domain renewals" or "USA DOMAINS" or some other domain related name. Be weary.. if you fall victim to this scam you could end up throwing away $30-$80 dollars or worse - you could loose your domain!
If you keep your domain with me, I will protect you from such scams.
As my client of any nature, you can call me if you have questions regarding this activity.
